At church we are doing a Beth Moore Study on the book of Esther. I love Beth Moore studies, because I learn so much and she is so dad gum engaging. (Yes, I realize I just used dad gum in a sentence.) I remember the first time I was going to watch the video that went with it and I took one look at her and thought she would be stuck up church lady type. (I don't know why, maybe I was in a bad mood.) However I was immediately engaged by her down to earth style and her enthusiasm. One of my favorite parts of this series so far is that every week she asks a you to fill in the blanks of this sentence.
It is tough being a woman when ______.
or
It is tough being a woman in a world where _______.
She then reads some responses during the video portion. Some are funny some and some make you cry.
I thought this would be a fun exercise for us. So my question today is how would you fill in that blank? Men, drop the Whoa part of women okay? I throw my answer in the comments, but please post your answer and then look at the other comments.

It's tough being a woman when the laundry pile has suddenly grown bigger than your bed, you and one kid have stomach flu so that pile will be growing exponentially, its your day to volunteer in the church nursery and you had extra kids over to stay the night so you have to get everyone fed and taken care of. Do moms get sick days?
However it is easier when hubby takes care of breakfast for you and a friend volunteers to take your place in the nursery. Now there is still the laundry to worry about...
It's tough being a women when you live in a house full of males. I know I will never have that picture perfect house until at least 2 of them are in college. But I am fine with that. I love my house full of boys even in all of the chaos and mess.
It is tough being a woman in a world where you are the one who continues to take emotional abuse long after an already bad marriage has ended because you have a child. Mitch can't do anything but listen and console me. I am working on ignoring said person. It isn't easy, but it is getting easier.
It's tough being a woman when you work in a male dominated industry that thinks women ought to only be subservant secretaries and you are treated as less valuable, for less pay but expected to do twice the work... without getting sick or getting upset. It's tough being a women when she is called a B|tch for having her own opinions, for standing up for her own beliefs and thoughts - at times being assertive and strong. When the double standards are considered the norm.
And yet it is incredibly amazing being a woman when you can feel, see, understand and love the way a woman only can.

Its tough being a woman when you are a single parent working three jobs to make ends meet and your sons teacher sends home a "FAMILY PROJECT" which requires the use of hand tools and duct tape and spray paint and TIME. Especially when you realize that if you did not have such a fabulous boyfriend who took the time to make said project...your son would have been absent from school that day.
It's tough being a woman when you have so many roles to play - wife, mother, sister, writer, blah, blah, blah - and you really love them all and want to do them perfectly then you realize that being superwoman is a big, fat lie and NO ONE can do it ALL perfectly at the SAME time. Exhale.

It's tough being a woman when you're on a long car drive and you have to pee, and there are nothing but bushes available.
Which reminds me of a long car drive I took awhile ago, and I looked out my window and alongside the highway, there was a row of 3 male persons standing with their backs to the highway, looking terribly interested at something in the bushes. LOL!
It's tough being a woman when you're a man. I couldn't resist.
Great Answers Everyone, MochaDad thanks for the giggle.
It's tough being a woman going through menopause and your husband cannot experience those dag gum hot flashes and night sweats so he would know you really are not exaggerating!!
I love Beth Moore studies!
I wish I could comment on why it's hard to be a woman, but I'm drawing a blank.
It's tough being a woman when everybody considers you to be 'the strong one'. So every funeral, small disaster or sickness requires my input and solace. Even when that person is/was very close to me.
Nobody seems to think I need pampering.
@TexasMammie you've just reminded me to do something sweet for my mom, she is that person in our family.
BWHAHAHAHAHA! I am laughing over these responses because honest, the first two "It is tough being a woman" thoughts that popped into my mind were re: laundry and peeing!
What great answers!
Here's a go... (purely stream of consciousness...)
It's tough being a woman in a world where there is no winning. If you stay at home, you are not serving society productively yet if you work you are not taking care of your family. It's always a lose-lose situation as a woman.
It's tough being a woman during that time of the month - I always find myself wishing I was born a male (LOL).
I put on women's shoes for Mocha Momma once. So I would say it's tough being a woman having to work in those damn shoes.
Hey you...how are you? No new entry for more than a month, check in would you? Many hugs..
