Space Balls

I'd love to tell you after that last post, I have figured out the key to getting it all together, but we both know that would be a lie.

However, I keep trying, and laughing along the way, there is always plenty to tickle my ribs.

Z, my master of funny sayings, rarely fails to amuse me. Hanging out with a four year old and two year old may be expaserating at times, but it is never dull.

I don't if I have ever mentioned how my family is really into Star Wars.  Well we are, but not crazy, I mean we don't own $100 lightsaber replicas.  There may be a few costumes in the house but they are all for short people.  We do know the difference between Clone troopers and Storm troopers.  We might be able to tell you what kind of alien Sebulba is, and someone here could problably inform you what TIE fighter stands for argue the feasabilty of a twin ion engine being able to keep up with a x-wing.  One of my proudest moments was winning Star Wars Trivial Pursuit against my husband.

For my husband and I, the trilogy were THE BEST MOVIES ever.  As a youngster my cousins and I had episode 4 memorized.  I had a huge crush on Luke Skywalker and Han Solo.  I wished Chewbacca could live at my house, and rip out the arms of the mean kids at school.  My husband had all the toys, well he still has them and we are still buying more, and not always for the kids.  In fact he has his millenium falcom and the boys have theirs.  They don't get to touch Daddy's. Gift giving for him is easy, I just buy him another star wars transformer because at 33 those are the coolest toys ever, still!

Needless to say, Z is a little obessed like his father.  The hubby brought home a book with price list of the old toys under the pretext of possibly selling some of his (yeah right).  Z can literally spend an hour or more poring over it, at 4 no less.

The other day he was dressed up in his favorite Clonetrooper costume and he even let little brother wear his Darth Vader costume.  I nearly fell out of my chair laughing when Z said "Lord Vader, what do you want to play now?"

For a while now I have wondered if I have let it go to far.  Sometimes Z says something to confirm that.

Yesterday at lunch he really proved the point.  "Momma, I was praying to Jesus," he said, "and I asked him to use the force so I could have things come to me." Another talk about fact vs. fiction.

A while back at church one Sunday the teacher gave the kids little cut outs of Jesus and they were suppossed to tell their family about him.  Z listened but extrapolated that information to not quite the original intent.  At the park, he asked me if he could go show his Obi-Wan figure to a kid at the park.  Very seriously he told me,  "He might not know about Star Wars."  Giving in I just said, "May the force be with you Luke."

Just keep swimming, Just keep swimming

I have started a few drafts of some entries,  somehow I am not able to get out what I want to say yet.  The drafts don't read right yet.

I would like to become a better writer, so I keep writing, but not posting since it's not what I want. I'll keep working on it, but like a lot of things in my life I need to just chill about the way I want to do it, and just do it.

I think one of the things I have learned about myself in the last few years is how I often don't do things because they don't go according to my plan.

I realized that in my marriage when life started getting sour a couple of years ago, I often would shut down, because life was not the ideal I wanted.  While having ideals isn't necessarily wrong, I gave up and that was wrong.  Eventually we worked ourselves out of that with some help.

Right now I have been fighting my ideals with trying to work from home.  I often have found myself bogged down with doing things a certain way, instead of just getting them done.  Then I obsess about how long I am taking to do the work and get bogged down more.

However the important thing to do sometimes is to keep moving, even though the path I was taking is blocked, it's not the only way to get there. Right?

I think I am making some progress, realizing the problem is half the battle, right?

Living La Vida Loca Part Dos

I have been meaning to write an entry for a few days now. There are a whole lot of topics in my mind. The plight of working vs stay at home moms, racism, and how to achieve world peace among the few light topics. But I guess you are lucky since I don't have the time or the "skillz" as the kids say to do those topics justice so you are going to just be blessed by a photo essay of what is going on in my life.

This is an old photo of my childhood horse but the blue sky is one thing I have been enjoying. While good old Deca is long gone from the pasture, my boys have been learning to ride our current equine tenants at the house. I don't have those pictures back from my official phtographer, I am too nervous to run go get the camera during the impromptu riding sessions. They both are riding on their own with instruction from the wrangler.

Good thing I had been training them at home. : ) Max has been perfecting his skills, although it looks like he may have been having some horse problems, but you know a good horse hug can fix a lot of problems.

These are photos of Z from when he was around 1. Hard to believe he is a seasoned 4.5 year old now. I think he may be the trick rider of the two, look at they way he knows how to wave his hat to the throngs of adoring fans.

A lot of my time is also spent as a referee. I am sure you can see why.

Then there is the organizing to do. This is the before shot of the kitchen .

And after including a close up of my magnetic poetry.

We even have poetry on the cabinet doors, only high class joints have that. Of course I would assume most have better luck finding the right words in thier magnetic sets. This was my first magnetic poem, please believe me that "here" was all I could find although I meant "hearing."

This is the photo of my magically transformed trailer living room. See I told you I had been painting.

Yesterday it was raining in the morning it smelled heavenly and nap time was nice.

Well I guess that is it unless I bore you with a bunch of pictures of my boys and I wouldn't stoop that low, would I?

Living La Vida Loca

Hey I am working on moving my lastest post over from MSN, but it didn't cut and paste. So I actually have to work on it. (sheesh, lol.) So until I finish it if curiosity gets you, stop by and see me here, otherwise please come back soon. Okay?
