I'd love to tell you after that last post, I have figured out the key to getting it all together, but we both know that would be a lie.
However, I keep trying, and laughing along the way, there is always plenty to tickle my ribs.
Z, my master of funny sayings, rarely fails to amuse me. Hanging out with a four year old and two year old may be expaserating at times, but it is never dull.
I don't if I have ever mentioned how my family is really into Star Wars. Well we are, but not crazy, I mean we don't own $100 lightsaber replicas. There may be a few costumes in the house but they are all for short people. We do know the difference between Clone troopers and Storm troopers. We might be able to tell you what kind of alien Sebulba is, and someone here could problably inform you what TIE fighter stands for argue the feasabilty of a twin ion engine being able to keep up with a x-wing. One of my proudest moments was winning Star Wars Trivial Pursuit against my husband.
For my husband and I, the trilogy were THE BEST MOVIES ever. As a youngster my cousins and I had episode 4 memorized. I had a huge crush on Luke Skywalker and Han Solo. I wished Chewbacca could live at my house, and rip out the arms of the mean kids at school. My husband had all the toys, well he still has them and we are still buying more, and not always for the kids. In fact he has his millenium falcom and the boys have theirs. They don't get to touch Daddy's. Gift giving for him is easy, I just buy him another star wars transformer because at 33 those are the coolest toys ever, still!
Needless to say, Z is a little obessed like his father. The hubby brought home a book with price list of the old toys under the pretext of possibly selling some of his (yeah right). Z can literally spend an hour or more poring over it, at 4 no less.
The other day he was dressed up in his favorite Clonetrooper costume and he even let little brother wear his Darth Vader costume. I nearly fell out of my chair laughing when Z said "Lord Vader, what do you want to play now?"
For a while now I have wondered if I have let it go to far. Sometimes Z says something to confirm that.
Yesterday at lunch he really proved the point. "Momma, I was praying to Jesus," he said, "and I asked him to use the force so I could have things come to me." Another talk about fact vs. fiction.
A while back at church one Sunday the teacher gave the kids little cut outs of Jesus and they were suppossed to tell their family about him. Z listened but extrapolated that information to not quite the original intent. At the park, he asked me if he could go show his Obi-Wan figure to a kid at the park. Very seriously he told me, "He might not know about Star Wars." Giving in I just said, "May the force be with you Luke."
